I've seen Z gundam but never watched CCA because I thought it was bullcrap that no characters from Z or ZZ appeared in it, especially kamille. However, the other day my friend was saying that gyunei from CCA is just kamille by a different name.

How true is this? Could I just watch CCA and pretend gyunei is kamille?

Basically, Tomino's original draft of the story (even before he sat down and wrote Hi-Streamer, if I recall correctly) had a still-pretty-crazy, cyber-enhanced Kamille as Char's lieutenant. He quickly ditched this idea, and replaced him with Gyunei. That's the only connection - he fills the role of young and somewhat unstable lieutenant to Char that Kamille was originally going to.

Jagd Doga is probably my favorite MS from UC.

Hell it even makes Quess look cool as she murders her father in one. (also is quess' red Jagd a hand me down from char before he was given the Sazabi?)

But the Jagd was a pretty complex looking rig, its assumed Neo Zeon only had the 2 in use. So Why would they just have an empty one floating around?

if we will take CCA MSV into account, Char probobly used the Geara Doga Psycommu System Test Type before he got the Sazabi. i like to think that that is where they got Char's Psycho-memories from for Full Frontal, rather than Sazabi's Psychoframe which was likely vaporized in the atmosphere.

Char is actually entirely red, and a brighter shade of red at that.

Johnny's units all have very clear details in black as well as a darker shade of red

What I had heard was that originally Gyunei's place in Char's Neo-Zeon was supposed to be Kamille's and that Gyunei was later placed in there after the writers decided that Kamille wouldn't be doing any more fighting in the duration of UC. That being said, I have no sources to cite, so feel free to accuse me of being full of shit.

His death was so hilarious in that Amuro was just bemoaning how much time was being wasted by neutralizing both Quess and Gyunei during the entire fight.

He didn't even get a "BLEEEARRGH!!!!!!!" death, his MS just blew up and Amuro continued on.

Because if so, telling yourself Gyunei = Kamille could be a slap in the face and possible character assassination.

Gyunei spends a good chunk of the movie stewing in inadequacy over the fact he's not a natural Newtype and jealous of the fact Char's the real deal (albeit a very weak one.)

This rumour keeps getting repeated over and over but no one can ever seem to give a concrete source for it. Even the Beltorchika's Children novel (which is pretty much CC how Tomino wanted it) has a Gyunei-type character (named Grab Gus IIRC). Personally, I think it's a bullshit rumour made up by Char fanboys who like to imagine a scenario where Kamille would have joined Char in CCA.
