Z-2 has gotten me to start watching 00, and I'm wondering if I could ask one of you to share the "enjoyment graph" of the series so I can adjust my expectations accordingly. I remember it being reposted several times here and on /a/ during the 2nd season's airing.

Had a few comments to it, like how the end of season 1 was the peak of the series and season 2 was a big letdown. I'm going off this by memory.

Season 1 is good, season 2 is alright, movie is good.

If you add /m/ filter

Season 1 is meh, season 2 is a crime against god, and movie is the thing nobody watched because they were still angry about season 2.

So just go watch code geass or something dude, this thread will do nothing but make you cry.

My 2 cents: I loved 00 (both seasons). It has it's flaws but it's a fun watch. I was deeply disappointed in the movie, but still glad I saw it.

But seriously, don't go in with expectations.

Season 1 is good but dry, Season 2 is less good but actually attempts to make the protagonists likeable. Overall it's a pretty decent series.

Although like a lot of /m/ I have a personal bias in that a character I like gets shafted in S2.My waifu....

00 starts off good, an interesting premise, even if it is kind of like a Wing update. Things lag a bit towards the middle of season 1, like it will. And towards the end you start to realize that none of the important questions have been answered, and none of the major conflicts have been resolved, and you start to get worried.
Season 1 ends with the series trolling your shit.
Season 2 is just one giant fuck-around, full of blatant fanservice with no real artistic vision. It's just a mess.

Season 1 was a fresh new start for Gundam without or with very little UC influence

Season 2 was UC, UC influence everywhere, but eventually it's kinda okay when it reach it last few episodes

Thing is, I remember most of the UC stuff in S2 being twisted quite a bit. The masked man is an ineffectual nutjob, the crazy bitch with the massive mobile armour doesn't die for drama's sake, A-LAWS is written as an organisation of mostly sympathetic people caught under the actual villains' heel instead of the SUPER EVIL AS FUCK Titans from Zeta, the two star-crossed lovers on opposite sides who first meet in combat have a good end...not saying it's anywhere near perfect, but the UC influence isn't the real issue with it. Rushed writing and silliness like Lockon 2.0 or the Gagas are more deterimental than a few token UC nods.

You still have to understand that UC references are being made for any of this shit happening to make the slightest bit of sense. If you don't know UC, then all you know is that Graham's personality has changed for no reason and there's a new villain faction that makes no sense.

Graham's shift in personality was artificial as fuck, I'l agree, but what about A-LAWS didn't make sense? I mean, you get the whole world united against a common enemy, of course it's not going to be a very democratic and fair organisation. A-LAWS is just what happens when you force the world into co-operating with itself for entirely bullshit reasons.

Britannia and Union are the Britannia Union. It's officially a constitutional monarchy but everyone knows Wakamoto is in charge and can do whatever he wants, fuck the constitution.

EU and AEU are the AEU now. OZ is technically part of them but works independently.

Chinese Federation is just part of the HRL. They're barely in Z2-1 (just Sergei and Soma) at all so not much is known about them. All we see of the Geass side is an offhand mention of Xingke (as the "tiger of the HRL") at one point.
