>>6422139Continuing. If the other Greeed and their medals feed on artificial desire, then I'd say Giru feeds on that instinct.
The other medals can't affect Eiji because he has no artificial, society-driven desire to feed on. He's willing to give up all other forms of greed, including his desire to live, to fulfill that desire.
Giru, feeds on a desire of a completely different scale than the others. Life in an ecosystem. Life like our ancestors once lived, and like what Eiji effectively strives for. Eiji strives to coexist so badly that he's willing to give up his life and everything else.
He's emptied himself and is dishonest because of the fear that his greed will hurt others. Which is why Date said he's the kind to make himself cry. He's suicidal, in a sense, as long as it means people can coexist.
And if you consider that, well, Eiji's rampages in PuToTyra are simple. Our ancestors once lived like animals in the time of prehistory. They didn't go around killing each other or destroying things for personal gain. They simply existed and coexisted.
Giru's effectively reverting Eiji to that ideal, removing socialization from him, turning him into a defensive animal running on instinct. A twisted embodiment of his ideal, ironically giving back his desire to live in the process.
