Long story short:
* I only announced Lauren after she herself gave me the go-ahead to do so. I only announced John after John's agent and I reached an agreement on fees and terms and I was about to cut the first payment. Hasbro's "no fan-con can sign any MLP talent until we've worked out a policy" announcement (see: the PSA posted on EqD) came shortly after that and delayed the signing of formal paperwork. It'd seem that Hasbro has worked out their policy, and so now Andrew is (re-)finalising details with both John and Lauren.
* No, Andrew is not my puppet. He's done things that I've vehemently disagreed with (on a fairly regular basis). He is not puppet-able. As noted in the staff spreadsheet, I do Web work, sysadmin work, and creative work (posters, etc.). As much of this is marketing materials, I am classified under PR.
* No, I'm not in the fandom to become rich and famous; generally speaking, you can't become rich running a con. Many weeks, I put in more hours per week working for BronyCon than for my day job, and in the end I will not have gained a cent. What money I earned from the previous con is almost certain to be insufficient to pay the taxes on con income. My tax filing come April is not going to be fun. I will almost definitely owe more than I have left over after paying con bills, expenses, and other con employees. For the record, after all parties involved worked dozens of hours a week for several months, Nanashi got $6K, Sean got $2K, and I got around $6K in hardware. Given how many hours of work all parties put in, this was peanuts. It is not theft to be paid fairly for one’s work.
N.b.: The previous posting allegedly by me is not by me. I'll be posting my tripcode on my dA (
purpletinker.deviantart.com) to validate that this actually -is- me.
