If you liked their older stuff, The Gay Parade is probably the most well produced work in their older career. Satanic Panic is kind of the highlight in their transition to the new of Montreal you see in Hissing Fauna. False Priest is of Montreal in it's most ambitious, poppy form.

>>23989589 Well, they're moving away from the pop they implemented from Hissing Fauna to False Priest and are moving in a more psychedelic, progressive rock direction, with more eclectic song structures and live instrumentation like strings and brass. Also, he completely dropped Georgie Fruit and the excessive sex and went with a more personal song style. Like, this new album can be absolutely heartwrenching, not only because of the lyrics but because his voice is more raw than it ever has been, screaming quite a bit too (in a good way).
Just don't expect it to be anything like false priest, because it's quite different.
