The vocals are very unique, TK has high pitched vocals that interchange with female vocals, sometimes TK will just SCREAMMMM like screamo screams oh god he is my favorite vocalist of all time. the instrumentation is top notch as well everything is very precise and you can tell there's math rock influence in a lot of it especially the drumming. it's not just post-hardcore it's got a lot of influence from other things like post-rock, j-pop, indie rock, a lot of stuff

Boris - Flood
>doom metal, post-rock, ambient, drone doom http://www.mediafire.com/?v90im72hparkrj1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vEL9ltCl64 This is like my favorite album of all time. It's the absolute perfect album in every way. i like this take on it
"Flood I is when the rain starts. The looping guitars show the rain picking up speed and density. The crashing drums are thunder and lighting: scarce, at first, but soon overwhelming. As the drums get harsher, the water begins to accumulate.
Flood II is when the water has gotten so high that you're floating a few inches off the ground. The relaxation and near nirvana you experience in this world of water is beautiful.
Flood III is when you've been floating for days. Hunger begins to strike. Your body is weak. You start to sink. Though you're able to stay somewhat afloat, the water soon overpowers you and you're struggling for air.
Flood IV is when you realize you're time to die has come. Your body grows lifeless as water is sucked into your lungs. It stings, but after some time you go numb. You're completely underwater, and sinking slowly. You'd hoped that your life would flash before your eyes, but you're so cold and numb that you can't think of anything. However, you are at peace. You watch as the sun begins to shine in the world above the water, and you feel secure as it slowly fades to nothing. Your eyes close, and you slip into eternal darkness - safe, and calm."

>free improv, noise, a cappella http://www.mediafire.com/?47rjvrdc4bl3d2c this album is very difficult to explain. This is really one of those albums that sounds like nothing else on the planet, much like Trout Mask Replica. Haino does a live set with a drum machine and some vocal loops, resulting in small gaps of silence broken by exciting percussive sounds and the long vocal lines. it makes you feel like you're trapped in a very small room watching as an avalanche destroys everything outside

Les Rallizes Denudes - '77 Live
>noise rock, psychedelic rock http://www.mediafire.com/?mmz32btjejz http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyxB-pSYEKc Certainly not for everyone, this album is MASSIVE, very, very, very loud. This is partially caused by the awful sound quality, but this adds to the music as well. This is REALLY loud, I mean your ears will be in severe pain after this, it's well over an hour long. There's two things that drive this, the first is dat bass. Most of these songs are 10 to 25 minutes long, yet the bass repeats the same line over and over throughout the song, hardly ever changing. This makes a kind of hypnotic effect on the music. The second is Mizutani's incredible guitar work. He completely destroys his guitar and drowns it in feedback and distortion that rivals Merzbow's albums. Definitely not an album for everyone, but those who it is for will find this album to be a masterpiece of noise and rock

Boris with Michio Kurihara - Rainbow
>psychedelic rock, noise rock http://www.mediafire.com/?3e9wdlxdvyx http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhZUoqQ9enQ argh so underrated, very mellow and chilled, but also harsh and bitter at the same time. michio's solos can be off putting, they're incredibly raw and harsh compared to the rest of the songs and sound completely out of place, but somehow it works. i think he is one of the greatest guitarists to ever live though. what is more important here is that Boris and Kurihara are skilled songwriters, and we often forget that behind their production values. this is some of their most deliberately emotional stuff they've put out i think. You Laughed Like a Water Mark is one of the best Boris songs ever made

>shoegaze, dream pop http://www.mediafire.com/?ps4bdp47dkqp67k http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvR-NLBcLGY vocals are often softly sung and mixed low, allowing the guitar work to really shine. the bass can be heard fairly well in many of the songs, which really supports the rhythm of each piece. there's an almost psychedelic element to many of the songs in the guitar effects used, but it's not too far "out there" it actually works really well.
