Eh, I'm actually surprised with how into vaporwave I am. I really dig the aesthetic and most releases that have come out of it. I think I'd only truly get bored with it if people stopped making vaporwave or just became Macintosh Plus-lite projects with slowed down 80s music and replicated cover art.

I think it's really good explorative, curatorial music.

I think you've got quite a bit of versatility. You nail that creepy vibe that seems to be rare in vaporwave releases, that Uncanny Valley vibe I try to go for in my own music. It varies with your releases, but expresses itself in different facets.

It'd be best to use a combination of DAWs. I personally use audacity for chopping and working on fine details, but Ableton for effects, warping, looping, etc. If you keep to just one DAW you'll be limiting your possibilities quite a bit.

I found it to be really vague, borrowed a lot from the vaporwave aesthetic but didn't have substance behind it. Add to the mix that it's been spammed to hell on here and that there are allegations that the tracks from the release were ripped from an assortment of different soundclouds...yeah, I'm not fond of it.

Thanks. I didn't think Veracom was one of the most popular producers on Soundcloud for Vaporwave. I usually find my Vaporwave on Bandcamp. I didn't want to assume 'someone I didn't know' produced music. He and everyone else took it as I thought someone else produced his music for him. It was a simple misunderstanding on both of our parts. I left mostly because I was hungry and was going to get some Del Taco eventually.

I really like the use of MIDI soundsets in some vaporwave shit but am not too fond of the super-slow-easy-listening-samples thing that seems to be fairly prevalent in the style. I'm not entirely against sampling That is, I can dig stuff like Virtual Information Desk or NETWORK NEIGHBORHOOD's C:\MYDOCU~1 but am not so keen on Macintosh Plus. I also really like Luxury Elite but kind of wish it was a bit more dynamic.

I'm really into the aesthetics, too. However, I have not yet seen any musically interesting stuff. Most of it feels a little bland to me; but not on a funny or intentional level.
It's good to see the style evolving, though. I think it bears a lot of potential. Some of the graphic projects are really great, the music just has to catch up a little.

I sorta agree, the aesthetic is usually pretty awesome, but the music scene is usually oversaturated with too many amateur musicians from /mu/ rushing out to make babby's 1st vaporwave album by slowing down 80s music samples and shit in Audacity. I would probably be worse if I were to make vaporwave music, but still. It's true.

Instead I just make attempts at the vaporwave aesthetic.

But that's just it, all of the vaporwave albums, ALL OF THEM, sound amateurish and totally lacking in ideas.

The whole fucking movement is done on the back of Far Side Virtual and that one track by OneOhTix Point Never who slowed down and looped an extract of Lady in Red. Then every other retard did a massive band wagon jump hoping that if they got on board quick enough, they would end up being the defining captain of the genre, thinking that no effort would be required to make a worthwhile album.

This is the internet at its worst. Everybody hoping to become e-famous without putting in any effort nor consideration nor thought, and especially no quality control.

This is all shit. Nobody outside of this board is going to voluntarily listen to any of it, and if you don't believe me then check out all of the hot vaporwave reviews on Rate Your Music. That's right. Absolutely nobody is reviewing any vaporwave music, because nobody is listening to it. This is because it is genuinely bad music. It isn't even music. Everybody just wants to reference the early 90s tacky CD-ROM/Windows 95 visual aesthetic but none of you have the creativity of talent, nor patience or commitment to actually deliver a worthwhile artistic statement.

James Ferraro did though, but even that album isn't worth listening to.

Why does every naysayer of fads rage when it becomes somewhat popular? Vaporwave artists on Bandcamp can't really brag (and don't) about how it's better than anything else. They don't talk about how neat they are. Their music's superiority isn't pressed in any way. It's made to be enjoyed. If you're hating on Vaporwave or other genres, you're the one wasting your time. We don't care that it'll disappear in a few weeks (or days). We don't care that it's insignificant-- WE AS HUMAN BEINGS ARE REALLY INSIGNIFICANT. If we all followed your guys' nihilistic logic, we'd just sit on the curb all day until we were to just topple over and die.

There's never been a good argument to prevent someone from creating and putting something out into the world (unless it imposes on others' freedoms).

Out of both sides of the argument, you mostly have haters (as opposed to lovers). Why? They tell us we're wasting our time and that we're insignificant. That may be true for the indie girl listening to music, but we're producers trying to push our artistic language in multiple directions. We're not bragging, we're just enjoying: creating and listening.
