Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan wants Turkish schools and universities in Germany. He said that Turks need to learn their own language first before they could learn German. He also offered to send Turkish teachers and educators to Germany and he spoke out against the assimilation of the Turkish People into the German population. He said further that the German Government should have no problems with this.

That's my point, do you ever think that the Turks would agree to things like a European Rapid Reaction Force, or other integration based policies that aim to strengthen the union? Of course not! That's why America supports Turkish membership, Britain too, it will water down the EU. Turn it from becoming a formidable player in it's own right to a loose economic alliance of states.

It's a good thing many of these 2.7 million "Turks" in Germany are actually Kurds.

They'll get around this by insisting that the Kurdish language is taught to them instead of Turkish, and then this nonsensical discussion will cease.
