I have a question for all of you (since /b/ is down);
How is it, exactly, that the news media is taking Anonymous wholly at its word concerning its campaign against Scientology, leading to such gems as "a member of the group has been quoted as saying it has around 9,000 members" and that "we're not hackers on steroids.
Not ONE person has questioned the assertion that this is all the effort of a "shadowy group" of "hackers and activists". Fifteen fucking minutes on Wikipedia and Google would have revealed this whole thing for the elaborate farce that it is.
What is it, exactly, that Anonymous has unleashed here? Have we come along at just the right time in history? Is this a revolution, or is it a bunch of kids on a message board exploiting their elders' ignorance and fear? Or is it both?
tl:dr Anon is internets revolutionaries or weeaboo fags?
