Disgraced French far-Right leader Jean-Marie Le Pen was given a three-month suspended sentence on Friday for calling the Nazi occupation of France "not particularly inhuman".

The 79-year-old founder of the National Front party, not present for the verdict in a Paris court, was found guilty of denying a crime against humanity and complicity in condoning war crimes, both violations of France's Holocaust denial legislation.

Last May, 88 per cent supported him for his "anti-establishment" popularism.

I expected recieving shit from liberals and local muslims, and turned out that the media there is as much misrepresentative of the population as anywhere else. Only explanation I can see for the staggering stupidity of some of the comments above is total ignorance of the Nazi war crimes in France, so I'll cite two that come to mind :

If he and his party express opinions that liken them to the Nazis, then it sounds like they should have already paid the price for their foolishness, as both Le Pen and his party have been condemned by political mainstream in the past for the same reasons.

I agree that the concept of pressing a falsified version of history on the people through the media is troubling, and so far I have yet to discover a solution that doesn't use these same methods to indoctrinate a population with someone else's values. I guess the best you can justifiably do is educate people so they know what's pigshit and what isn't.

It's a bit hard to compare the two in the modern age unless you're going to play a game of 'pretend.' No culture on Earth can really compare for the sheer number and promotion of terrorism we see in Islamic culture.

That is self evident in it's own right. Muslims have a monopoly on terror cells, terror camps, bombings, kidnappings, organized extremism, beheadings, hate speeches, terror snuff videos, jihad propaganda media, forced conversions, oppression of religious minorities, riots, and abuse of women.
