What end? Way to buy into the mainstream media spin. Ron Paul just said in the letter he's going all the way to convention, no matter what happens. His seat is only a worry until the Texas primary on March 4th. He'll easily knock out the neo-con opponent and be unopposed in November (the Dems rarely run against him).
This seems like an okay strategy to me, though in some respects, I wish he hadn't ruled out a third party run. However, in the end, it's easier to convince a few hundred Republican delegates to vote for you than millions of people in a third party effort that has a 99.9% chance of failure.
Also, Ron Paul can't have the gnashing teeth of the media raging at him for being a spoiler, as they did to Nader. And he'll be there to play a role in the shitstorm that inevitably follows in the GOP if McCain loses. Conservative and libertarian types will be screaming to return to the party's roots if libtard McCain fails.
