For the past ten years the Chinese have been trying to bribe an Australian weapons inventor into giving them the technology for the Metal Storm, a gun that can fire a million rounds per minute. Mike Dwyer has been contacted by China numerous times over the past decade and offered over $100 million to help the country build a super gun of their own. Other attempts included trying to bribe an employee of Metal Storm Ltd when he was on a business trip to Beijing.

In one case, a Chinese-Australian man was on a business trip to Beijing when he was allegedly approached by a Chinese diplomat to secure the gun.

He was offered about $2 million to get hold of the weapon and was told it was for the Chinese military, but after joining the Falun Gong movement, the man decided not to follow up the offer.
