Sally Anne Bowman and Lewis Sproston shared a volatile and "bitterly jealous" relationship, the court heard. The pair met on Christmas Day 2003, just after her 16th birthday.


Sally Anne was besotted with the 22-year-old, whom she described as her first love, but their relationship was stormy.

The pair fought often, accusing each other of cheating in rows which sometimes turned violent. Police were alerted a number of times.
