Dubai’s the biggest little city in the world. With the world’s largest mall, world’s largest water tower, and the world’s largest indoor ski park already on its resume, the city is now adding the world’s largest arch bridge.

The one-mile long, 612-ft tall bridge will begin construction in March and see a 2012 completion. The bridge will accommodate a metro line and 12 lanes of traffic, said to carry more than 2,000 vehicles each direction, each hour. Would it matter if it didn’t? Dubai is about excess, right?
