Remember the country that used be ranked at top in freedom of press? No more shall we have such luxury, as the police has decided to take advantage of the blacklisting implementations to block a website that heavily critizes the blacklist.
Most likely the reason was because the website was listing the blocked addresses and thus providing an easy access to childporn websites. However, the point of the list was to prove that quite many of the listed websites do not, in fact, contain any child porn at all.
The original purpose of the blacklist was to spesific urls on childporn websites to prevent access to child porn. In addition, the process was meant to be transparent and police was meant to be capable of telling why websites are added to the blacklist. Neither of these promises have been kept. The blacklist is simple list of blocked domains and the police refuses to comment on blocked domains. Not only that, but it's clear many of the blocked websites have absolutely nothing to do with childporn at all.
The copyright representatives in Finland are currently demanding, that websites such as the piratebay should be added to the list. I wonder how long till 4chan ends up in that list.

For finnfags who want to learn how to bypass the blacklist by using opendns instead of IPS's DNS, see:
