LOLWUT? Despite some stupid shit about how apparently iPhones are flying off the shelves, and practically calling stagflation, rising gas prices, and the housing disasters as scaegoats, the article does bring up a good solution to the middle class: FUCKING SAVE SOME MONEY AND STOP PAYING FOR OVERPRICED SHIT. But to be honest, I still plan on buying a nice 1080p someday soon... hopefully...

One problem that does occur is that people WERE making higher salaries, let's say, ten years ago. Now they've got a ten year old brat, a lower income, huge debt, and a bitchy wife who wants organic wipes so you make her get a job because with a divorce you two won't get much of a tax return.

I'm 29 and personally I feel stupid. I didn't waste very much of my money at *all* and made 6 figures at my last job. Moving to a cheaper area to live in soon, so my wages will go down, but my cost of living will plummet as well.

The reason I feel stupid is because honestly, I was *too* paranoid with my money. I only managed to save maybe 80k and pay for my vehicle in ten years, from 19 to 29. I should have been investing it and getting way more than the pathetic 5% or less from a savings account. Now I'm going through the process of learning how to *really* manage money so I can buy a house and start earning for my future retirement. The way I figure, social security will be a myth for my generation, so I will *have* to take full responsibility for my financial position and not depend on anything to save me when I get old and need to retire.

Which is why I mentioned in OP's post that the whole decrease in saving trends is NOT the reason or even a cause of what is being called the middle class crunch. If it was, then this "crunch" would have been felt since the 50's when even less people saved.
