OMAHA, Neb. -- A young Nebraska cancer patient's wish was granted when a big yellow school bus picked him up on Thursday, reported Omaha TV station KETV.

Prabesh Sapkota was diagnosed with leukemia at age 2½. He'll turn 4 in March. His parents said they're praying for a miracle, and they hope he's alive when his new brother or sister arrives at the end of April.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation arranged to grant Prabesh's wish to attend school.

He was picked up at the hospital by a bus for a visit to an Omaha elementary school's kindergarten class. His family said it may his only shot at going to school.

"He sees school buses. Ever since he was 2, ever since he could say bus," said Prabesh's mother, Jennifer Sapkota. "I always have told him when he gets to his fourth birthday, then he gets to ride the school bus and go to school.

Prabesh turns 4 on March 21.

"We don't know if he's going to make it to his fourth birthday, so a couple of weeks ago, we threw him his fourth birthday at the hospital," his mother said.

Visiting a kindergarten class on Valentine's Day is a pretty good start for making your dream come true. With treats and cards all around, teacher Lori Holland's class at Dundee Elementary School welcomed its new student.
