Our medical system has changed in the 5 years. We have a shortage of doctors, but even so medical waits are better than they've ever been. 5 years ago you'd see an article in the paper ever couple months about how someone was severely injured and needed treatment but couldn't get it.
I haven't seen one of those articles in years now, because its so rare. Our medical system is constantly improving. One of the big things we just did was increase benefits for potential people seeking a medical education/jobs in Canada.
Personally I think Canadian Health Care is fine. We just need to shift our attitudes so that we get more young Canadians interested in becoming practitioners, as well as provide them with incentives for going that route.
Understaffed hospitals = longer wait times. So...
More doctors = shorter wait times.
Right now Canada is a great place to be a doctor. You should see the incentives. o-O;
