Police in Kanawha County say a man fatally shot his wife and another man before killing himself Saturday in Sissonville.
Sheriff's Lt. Sean Crosier says 43-year-old Edgar Sigmond shot his 42-year-old wife, Gina Sigmond, and her friend, 52-year-old Steve Woodall of Huntington. Sigmond then shot himself. It happened at 9:50 a.m.
Crosier says the Sigmonds had a history of domestic violence. Edgar Sigmond was served a court order on Thursday that prohibited him from having contact with his wife.
Crosier says about 30 minutes before the shooting, deputies had advised Gina Sigmond to obtain another order allowing police to be present while she obtained her belongings. Crosier says she didn't get the order and returned to the home.
