I'm not go to say we're just better on this side of the Atlantic. But, rails like those in America, is considered dangerous here, in Denmark we only have 2 lines looking like that, one with an 40 kmph limit due to the track statement, only open for very special cargo, and one which is taken of the map, and not even considered existing but local authorities. That's what you got for you're extreme liberal thinking. Even here, I believe we think to liberal about the rails and public transportation.

I've rather pay more taxes, and then have cheap (if not free) public transportation that isn't under maintained.
