So Phoenix light rail goes online in three months. I keep hearing they modeled it after Houston and Salt Lake's light rail system. Having been on both, as well as other rail systems, why didn't they model it on Portland's MAX? MAX is far better, and it's the model for most other light rail systems worldwide. Why would the Phoenix Valley Metro designers base it on two inferior designs?

Portlands MAX isn't that great either, but frankly, I wish they would have at least given us some southbound service into Tempe and Chandler. Also, why the hell didn't they have service going to Sky Harbor? Shit makes so little sense.

Also, I am Republican, and I don't give a shit, I would ride the metro if I lived anywhere near it. I ride the bus as it is, and frankly I would appreciate continuous service North/South East/West from something a little quicker.

Scariest thing I've ever seen driving was when I was heading eastbound on 9 through Brookline AND THERE'S A GREEN LINE TRAIN MOVING DIRECTLY THE FUCK AT ME. Of course it then slashed across the westbound side of the road, so I was happy.

Well at least they're getting something on rails. Las Vegas is getting regionwide BRT next year. Makes sense, I guess, if you realize that rampant expansion + #1 in foreclusures = you could have a rail to a ghost town hobo suburb in five years.
