A commercial bus heading to a casino struck and killed a pedestrian at the Gulf Freeway and Woodridge on Friday night.
The driver of the bus, who was traveling eastbound on Woodridge, told police he felt a "bump in the roadway" when making a right turn onto the southbound service road about 10:36 p.m. After pulling over, he determined he had struck a man, later identified as 55-year-old Santos Velazquez, and called police.
