i'm gessing that it staying in DC is a no go over that time frame ... any tips for a trip like this ?

I would say look into hotels and such in Arlington and surrounding suburbs, there's bound to be something. Make any reservations early....

DC is a nice place to visit, check out the smithsonian and the +9000 other monuments and museusm

Even if you dont agree with american policy, you can marvel at the engineering and architecture
