No, seriously, what's the point? I haven't owned a car for the last 5 years, and if the lack of oil increases the cost of living by 30% (with a 100% increase in the heating&power costs), I can still maintain my standard of living easily. Sure, people will have to accept some limits (you might have to walk to the supermarket instead of driving your SUV), but it's hardly the end of civilization.
And honestly, increasing fuel costs might just reduce your standard of living, but living in a hidden cabin in the woods (as many peak oil survivalfags suggest) will certainly do so.
