Hey /o/, how do halo headlights work? Do the rings light up separately from the main bulb(s) as running lights or what? What bulbs do they use or do they come with LEDs or something or what the fuck. Never seen them up close so I'm not really sure, sorry for the dumb question. Thanks /o/.

basically what you said, aftermarket ones can be wired to turn on with the headlights or as daytime running lights. Usually they are LED, hell I haven't seen halo lights that aren't LED

you connect the halo cables to wahever other cables you want them to funtion with ie. connect them to blinkers, to parking lights etc

maximum benefit is with HID's, but normal bulbs work
never the less, HID's would greatly improve your visibility
they do look ricey, but hey, a retrofit is only a little better in most cases.

For everyones sake, if op is going to retrofit HID lights, make sure they are aimed correctly and make sure there isn't glare. Protip, if you light up the inside of the car in front of you or you get blinded by your light reflecting off their mirrors, you're doing it wrong

i had HID halo's for about a year (then kinda got tired of them, and went OEM)... here is the cut line that the projectors did... no glare what so ever (thats the main benefit of projectors)

these were on -10 degree angle from the horizontal (downwards).... the picture doesn't really show it well enough, but the lights here are around knee height...

I do a lot of rural night driving so I wanted something that would look pretty neat as well as improve my headlamps. Seems I'll have to look into getting some HIDs as well (inb4 rice, seeing a deer 1-2 seconds sooner so you don't hit it isn't rice). Best place to get these for a good price? (I'm guessing no ebay shit.)

Angel eyes are fun, but I got tired of mine some crazy while later. I only keep them because they look better than the stock housings and the whole projector thing is kinda nice.
