Southern Michiganfag here, next to Michigan International Speedway. I've been thinking about starting casually, since I actually have a car that could autocross decently. Don't really know of any events in the area though.

First time out was bad because the replacement trans had a different gear ratio so the rear end gear was not cooperating. Went to the test and tune with a 4.10 gear and it ran much better. I was 3 seconds behind fast time of the day driven by a national champion. I beat some Z06 Corvettes so I was happy. The new autox wheels and tires are ready to go so it should be much faster.

Hmm, the only ones that would even be remotely possible are the ones in Belle Isle. The others are too long of a drive. Belle Isle is even pushing it.

A few more weeks and ill be ready to attack the course. Just registered as an SCCA member but i've got some previous experience. Pretty sure i'll be in street modified.

I bought a World Class T5 from a 4th gen Camaro.

The spacers will probably be right at 0.75" but I will add longer studs and machine them to fit tightly over the hub and into the back of the wheel. Most of the bad things that happen from spacers are due to poor quality.

good choice, while it may be more expensive up front, it will save you in the long run

just make sure to check the oil after every event, as autoX can be very hard on transmissions, and you don't want little pieces of syncro floating in your gearbox oil
