I ordered an XB the first month they were available. Certainly not a Mercedes but the 5 speed squirts around town fine and not only is it about the least cramped compact car you can find, it's also one of the most useful.

...plus I know it was most reliable car of the year 2005, and either again 2006 or runner up to xA (which is effectively the same car..)

Mine got 32ish mpg no matter how I drove it.

If you get a tC get a first gen and be sure to get a rear sway bar. Honestly, it changes the driving feel so much. tC's aren't fast, but they are cool. Plus the Scion community is awesome.

My mom and sister had a tC from the first model year of 02 or 03. The new ones are leaps and bounds better in every way, but the old ass xB's had that shitty 1.5L that maybe made 105hp. The looks are galvanizing but id rawk one.
