OK guys im fucking pissed.

I seem to be only guy in the world to have a Crown Vic That Dosent work properly.

When its humid outisde and/or raining,the car will somethime run rough and stall...someime its works great for 6 min and then it starts to stall at every stop. IM fucking pissed. pic related

I changed the throttle body and the Pcm. Im havinf a new maf sensor tomorow.

You have a car that has an uncommon concern so it's not likely you'll get more than generic ideas. You're going to have to figure out how to develop information on what the car is doing when it's having the problem. You're going to want to know fuel pressure, injector waveform and pulsewidth, ignition primary waveform, scan tool for PCM codes and data. Go out and make it have its problem and see what changes. Once you know what area is affected then you can start to form theories about what's up and how to test it.

And yes this is beyond what most shops and backyard techs can/will do but the only other way is throw parts at it and you see how that's gotten you

take it to the dealer. It needs someone that knows what they're doing to properly diagnose it. Shit, throwing parts at it like that with no diag is freaking expensive. The fact you didn't even bother to try to diag it with a scan tool in the first place speaks a lot about your capability to figure this out.

You might have something as basic as a bad IAC that would only cost about $50 to get a new one

Older version right? Dont know what year they went coil on plug but that one should have plug wires. Change them. Make 100% sure they are routed correctly.

Moisture/rain/humidity can play hell with shit wires. Otherwise, get the car running and wiggle test the engine harness. Use a spray bottle to mist everywhere. Look for a bad connection.

Probably its the wires though.

You probably need a scan tool that will provide you with pid data and output state control to figure this out if you don't have any dtcs to aid you in diagnosis.

its an 05 so no IAC. I have the DBW throtle. All the parts i threw on it didnt coist that much yet. I have coil on plug setup

OK.....if you changed throttle body and pcm, you should probably stop by a dealer and make sure the values for the accelerator pedal position sensor are set correctly. (not a ford tech, but this does need to be done on some makes of vehicles)

Check this out before you go further.

You know, a MAF *is* one of the few sensors that can cause total mayhem and not throw a code because the failure parameters are by necessity pretty loose

not needed on a ford. Did you have the PCM flashed for your specific vehicle? It should be done even if it came from the same year crown vic. There will still be variations based on options on the car.

All of these test would only take a moment at the dealer. relative flow test on the injectors, leak test the injectors, monitor fuel pressure, relative compression test and power/cylinder balance to find a weak cylinder can all be done in about 10-15 minutes without even opening the hood of the car. Also the aftermarket scan tools even from snap-on don't support most of these features.

Op, if you think the maf is the issue you should at least pull out the current maf and see if it's dirty or has an obstruction and spray it with maf cleaner.

This bro. Had same symptoms on my Volvo (i know theres a difference). It would vary with outside temp, humidity, menstrual cycles and many more. Once it was replaced (borrowed one from one of my buddy who had the same car to diagnose, hey! You could do that to!) and the problem was gone.

I hade the same problem. Water got in to the plugs and shorting them out. Take the plug out and put some silicon on them, or change the whole gasket that they sit on.

Stock Vic MAFs are fuckin' garbage.

when it gets damp, your damp sensor should tell your car it's damp/wet outside and it'll return the engine

Sounds like the mass air flow sensor. You really didn't need to change the PCM, but whats done is done.

maf was easy to clean on the aeros. cant think it would be much different. get some contact cleaner at the zone and spray the fucker. dont forget to reset pcm by unhooking battery for a moment

Wet ignition? If there is a short caused by water or and accumulation of moisture in the cap = run like shit. I would do new wires and distributor cap.

yes, new fords with electronic throttle bodies don't have an IAC. They don't have a separate cruise control system either. The throttle body handles all of that now

na, no need for an IAC when the pcm can just command the throttle to open up a bit to raise the idle. Also, lot of the new fords don't have egr systems either because of VCT

Well duh. With VVT you don't need an external EGR system. Lack of IAC makes the calibrations more challenging, though.

why would that be challenging. The pcm moitors the rpms and gives it more throttle until it reaches the desired rpms instead of a pcm monitoring the rpm and increasing the duty cycle to the Iac until it reaches its desired rpms and all of this info gets stored into KAM anyways.
