I need your advice /o/

I believe my serpentine belt broke (Or is severely cracked, etc.) and I am considering fixing it myself. I have a 2001 Neon Plymouth and was wondering if it would be difficult? I know absolutely nothing about vehicles but am too cheap to have it towed to a shop, then have them fix it. Videos and articles are telling me its easy to fix, but I'm afraid of doing more damage because of my lack of knowledge...
