Why are bikes so maintenance-intensive?
I bought a brand new car one year ago and have put 24,000 miles on it. In that time all I've had to replace is the oil, three times (technically only needed twice but I don't like going 10k between changes). The tires will probably have to be replaced this year as well.
24k on your average sport bike is nearing old age. It would have needed at least three sets of tires, six oil changes, new plugs (not sure how many times), multiple expensive valve adjustments, a new chain, and who knows what other "regular" maintenance.
tl;dr why have motorcycles not advanced in reliability and technology to keep pace with cars?
pic unrelated but huge just like the fucking speedometer in that car holy shit.
