>>1252569>I have a budget of <$700>30mm or wider.Is that 30mm full frame equiv or wider, or literally 30mm or wider? Either way, it's gonna be tricky to pull that off under your budget. However, if you're okay with a 35mm normal on crop sensor, you could do this:
Used Canon EF 35mm f/2.0: $350
Used Canon 30D: $350
That'd be a reasonably good setup for indoor photography. If you want seriously *low* light, like inside a dimly lit restaurant or bar, you're really gonna have to either drop another few hundred on a decent flash or another few thousand on something in the same class as the Nikon D700 with an f/1.4 lens. I shoot with a Canon 5D and 50/1.4 and even wide open at ISO1600 is barely enough to catch some of the low-light situations I find myself in.
But all is not lost--if you get a *good* flash, with a bounce/swivel head, you can catch low-light shots and it doesn't look anything at all like the crappy on-camera front direct flash.
