Hay /p/

I'm a noob photographer trying to gain experience and I asked my cousin if she and her 3 kids (2 boys 1 girl) wanted me to take some pictures of their family for mothers day and they said sure. The shoot is set for next Saturday and even though these people are part of my family, I'm still pretty nervous about how to go about positioning them and if I'll be able to get any good shots seeing as it's my first time.

The camera I'm using is a D7000 and with the kit lens (18-105mm). Is there anybody who shoots with the same camera/lens and if so, do you have any tips or techniques for me to get some good pictures? Or even positioning tips and how to engage them?
