You're going overseas to some exotic locations to shoot pics of the landscapes, locales, etc...What camera would you suggest to endure the dirt, wear and tear involved in a prolonged journey of this sort? The slr I'd been using up till now isn't trustworthy enough to make it to the airport.

If you're not going to be shooting at high ISO very often the E-3 is a brick.

Maybe pick up a couple cheap, beater film SLRs. Like old manual-everything ones. Fewer things that are breakable on 'em, and cameras were all built like tanks back then, so they're less likely to die on you.

E-3 has too many hinges. E-1 is the brick-est dslr ever (like, you can stand on it and wash it under a tap if it gets dirty), but it's probably too old and clunky now.
