okay i found a photolab that was willing to hand process my b&w photos from my trip into town.
yea, shit pretty much sux.
what i did wrong:
went into town with the intention of "documenting the street", but actually never figured out anything more. didn't really decide what i was trying to do, capture the people or the buildings.
what i did right:
i survived with my camera intact and made some friendly chatter with some randoms.
what i learnt:
B&W film != colur digital converted to b&w. the tonal range and contrast is completely different.
black people are incredibly difficult to meter and expose correctly and capture on b&w.
