People give a large amount of shit. I got my balls busted the other day for walking by a church with my camera [in my bag] and tripod. I was in view of the building for no less than 20 seconds [total] and I had to explain myself to two faggots, one who actually chased me down the street to question me about "what I was up to".

A large amount of people are afraid of having their pictures taken; they're so full of fear that you'll use the photo in an evil manner that they won't allow it.

Carry business cards. Soon as someone comes up to you and asks wtf you're doing, for any reason, give them a card. People are usually content in being able to see where their picture might end up, and knowing who to contact should they object to the image.
