Digital has sharper lines, and film has better color depth. End of story.
All this did was prove that digital doesn't suck anymore (and it hasn't for a while), but squaring it up against 400ISO 35mm film is kinds of an obvious asshole move. After all, for quality, who the fuck shoots midspeed negative? Or whatever it was they shot.
