I'd like to ask you guys, what is your point of view on cropping? Is it cheap, shitty, lame, smart, valid-though-not-recommendable, perfectly fine maybe?

And a question on postprocessing... I feel my pictures are often more desaturated than I'd like them to be, so how do I go about increasing saturation slightly without creating artifacts everywhere? Would Ps CS4 or Lightroom make such adjustments easier (vivid slider etc etc)?

Pic related: Cropped a bit and colors in the picture might be a bit undersaturated for my taste.
