We cleaned up the refrigerator me and 2 of my dorm neighbors share yesterday and found some stuff we'd have hoped not to find.
The least disgusting stuff we found there was some cheese, a sausage and milk that had gone bad months ago and that was something you could clean up and then have dinner, but we were utterly unprepared for what would find after that.
The first really disgusting thing we found was an opened tin can of corn. It may have looked innocent at a glance, but when we took a proper look at the stuff we noticed that the corn that was still in the can had ATLEAST an INCH worth of mold ontop of it. We had to dispose of it separately in a plastic bag that we taped shut to make sure the mold spores (which it game off when we moved it around) wouldn't spread and contaminate something else.
After that I thought we had cleaned out the worst where after I took out a carton of milk and looked at the date. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it... The milk had gone bad 1,5 YEARS ago and had been undisturbed ever since. Then when we poured it down the toilet we noticed it had sort of separated into 2 layers, one half-solid white one at the bottom and a yellow liquid at the top.
So yeah... We agreed that we would take a Fight Club like approach to the whole thing, we don't talk about it...
