For me, there are limited reasons for experimenting with drugs. I will list them. People will take these reasons and change them to their liking, or to make them feel better about their actions.
1) To numb themselves
2) To experiment with non ordinary states of perception
3) Peer pressure
4) They find ordinary life boring, and want to experience something out of the norm
Every one of these reasons except for the experimentation will lead you to curse your life, and maybe one day lead you to become a sober person.
The only respectable reason for using drugs is experimentation. Yet, people use this excuse more often than not to sugar coat one of the other reasons I listed that is the REAL reason they are using. A person who experiments with drugs knows everything that can be known about the drug before doing it, uses a teacher or someone who has experimented with it many times previously that can act as a guide, and they never put the experience over their own health. That basically means, they realize that all drugs are debilitating and NOT HEALTHY for your body, that the price you pay for the experience is astronomical, so you better be fully conscious of why you are experimenting, and what you hope to get out of it.
If you are truly interested in states of non ordinary perception, I highly suggest you research forms of trances or meditation. They are sober states of non ordinary perception. Not easy to come by, require a lot of work, practice, and dedication.
Drug users who use to experience non ordinary states of awareness are generally lazy, and usually want the experience with as little work as possible.
