>>9094286Samefag here, another story.
I had a own pet, an agapornis. It was active, and playful. I let it fly around a lot in our house. When put the bird on my leg/belly, it always flied away. Except for one day..
It was an usual day, I took the bird out again and put it on my leg. It was staying there, putting its head in himself. I thought "wtf?", because it never usually did that. I just thought the bird was sleepy and put it back to its cage after a while.
The next day I had school, had to come home at 3 PM. Mom was also gone, doing some grocery. When she came back and looked into the cage, the bird was shaking in a corner. It was sick. She was shocked as fuck and wanted to take it to the veterinary. She called her neighbour who was driving her to it with the bird. Like 20 meters before she reached the veterinary, the bird died in her hands.
I came home at 3.05 PM, the bird died at 2.55 PM. Ten minutes earlier before I could see it. The last hour at school we didn't do shit anyway beside watching a movie. I wish instead I was that hour earlier at home, because then I could have saved the bird. My bird was sick, and I didn't notice it. The next day it died.
Still haunts me of how I couldn't see a sick bird and letting it die.
