Turns out my parents had kept quiet about him being sick, with a heart disease I do not remember the name of. Basically, one of his heart chambers didn't beat correctly. I'm not over it and I'm pretty sure I'll never be. The quick, almost gurgling breaths haunts my dreams and I cannot sleep without the light on anymore - I start imagining things and hearing that sound.

I also find myself wanting to punch the fuck out of people (especially teenagers) who baww over their parents being "mean" for silly things and wishing them to die. Just be happy you still have your parents. ffs.

I get what your saying, the "worst" thing I've seen/experienced is seeing my mom dying from cancer. She had brain cancer and due to some of the operations she couldn't use one of her vocal cords, so her voice was like a rasping whisper. I can't even remember what she sounded like before, all I remember is that shadow of a voice. Eventually she got so weak that she couldn't walk or feed herself, and she had to stay at the hospital. Sometimes when she got panic attacks she would just scream, scream for help, and nothing would make her feel safe, not even me or my dad. It was so hard to watch someone be in so much physical and emotional pain without being able to ANYTHING.

I was there when she died. I don't regret being there, but I'll never forget how real it felt when her hand went cold and her pulse stopped. My first thought was that "mom will be so proud that I held her hand right until the end", then I realized that she'll never be proud of me again.

I remember getting up pissed as fuck but I forgave the girl. In retrospect a rock that size hitting my head when I was 8 is pretty fucked. Never told parents. Never went to a doctor about it. After that I always got migraines just before it rains.
