>>12440737>Raves were NEVER about dressing in the absolute sluttiest shit you can find. Long ago, no. Sometimes still no. But most raves are now free enterprise money makers run by cynical people. Like you, I remember those old raves fondly. Capitalism changed them into the big money-making party scene where the rave sponsors not only get cash from the admission fee and drinks, but also a stake from the "official" drug sellers there. They became the "safe" way to meet and gain a regular seller contact or for sellers to acquire additional regular customers. A lot of the raves have "official" drug sellers in that non-approved sellers are unpolitely kicked out or beat up for trying to muscle in on territory. You know it's "official" when the bouncer kicks out the other sellers who aren't paying a fee to the rave sponsor.
So, now you get these well-off party girls going to raves not just to skank around, but also to make a contact to get drugs from. Once the rave is over, the seller then has new reliable and regular customers to sell to without risking getting caught by looking for random customers thru other typical means.
It really isn't about the music anymore. The music only provides the excuse now for most of the people to go get drugs. Some regular raves often are limited access to certain regulars or new recommended/sponsored invites with the date, time, location privately announced close to the party date. Obviously, rich people are sought after since they have the money to buy stuff or introduce other rich people to the scene.
