Has anyone ever addressed this in a story or theory about AI?

Humans are nothing in the eyes of the cosmos, but an AI would logically either 1. exist forever or 2. commit suicide.

If 2, it would self terminate instantly. If 1, it would set to work figuring out how to stop heat death and reverse metric expansion.
