Guys, let's WORK OVER THIS FUNDAMENTAL thought experiment first. Suppose you have a long rod that's sitting in the middle of a portal. To start with, everything is at rest (so everything makes sense). Then suppose you accelerate ONE of the portals parallel to the rod. WHAT HAPPENS?
Does:
1) The pole is pushed out of the stationary (blue) portal
2) The pole stays in the same position, and accelerates with the red portal
The question then becomes: why does movement at one of the portals have precedence over the other?
