to all you ausfags, is it worth continuing with 3U maths? Last term i came 17th in quite a smart school for it (GPS), but this term we're doing trig and im totally fucked :/ was wondering if I should continue or if I should drop to 2U, giving me more time for other shit.

It'll help you in the HSC. However, if you want, do this.
Do 3U until about the beginning/mid year 12, then drop down. you'll just be re-learning all your 3U.

Also, the HSC is a fucking joke.
I fucked around in high school because basically the education system sucks dick. Could have easily topped my math and physics class, but seriously, better shit to do.

However, I got a shit ATAR. But I'm doing a pathway into mechatronics.

Stick with 3 unit because it'll benefit you heaps in uni, even if you fail. I know a girl who topped 2 unit and regrets it because she still has to learn the stuff anyway. Uni science has a whole lot of applied calculus, log and trig stuff.

If you read my post, you would understand. And you probably don't even live in NSW.

Not that I didn't want to get good grades, of course I did. My motivation level was at sub zero. And i began doing my own study and research on things that don't have anything to do with the curriculum.

I had more than the capability to top my classes, which is what I'm pretty much doing at uni now.
I did top my Software Design (programming) class though.
