I need to find acceleration, a, when all I know is that the initial velocity is 0 and the final velocity is 82ms-1. The time is not given, but the mass and engine thrust is (it's an aircraft).

But this question gives only initial velocity and final velocity, and mass and thrust (???).

hmm...
thrust is a force.
F = ma, and you are trying to find accelleration.

...accleration should just be thrust divided by mass. you don't even need initial velocity or final velocity i think.

if thrust is constant then acceleration is constant.
I'm not completely certain, i just wiki'd what thrust was and checked that it is indeed a force...what units does it give the thrust in please?

1 newton is 1 kilogram per m/s^2.
so if mass is kilograms, thrust/mass will give accelleration in ms^2.
i think the extra infor of initial and final velocity are just red herrings to throw you off.
