As for why people like MMA, uh, because it's a combat sport that's a realistic simulation of a fight? Everyone can enjoy/understanding fighting, it transcends culture and personal taste. Although I must say, there are several people who don't like it because they don't understand the intricacies of it. You have to learn about it before you can really appreciate it.
