>>20800(You Asked for it)I didn't see your Nuggets advancing in the playoffs. Hence, "disappear" seems to be apt.
And cmon, those stats from 82games, you really didnt read the qualifications for the stat, did you? It clearly says "Game Winning Shot Opportunity = 24 seconds or less left in the game, team with the ball is either tied or down by 1 to 2 points."
So he can hit some last shots. So what? What about the rest of the other minutes of other fourth quarters where you see Denver squandering leads or just getting dumped? There are more intricacies to a basketball game, my friend, than stats from
82games.com. Besides, you really throw away stats during crunch time... Melo did, apparently...
Case in point: Let's see; you pointed out the LAC/Den 1st rd matchup - which I'd like to remind you your Nuggets lost 1-4 boo hoo). Melo averaged an astounding 26.5 ppg in the reg. season. Playoffs? 21.0ppg. There's a disappearance right there.
And don't get started on Melos D that series; he was guarding frickin' Quentin Ross and a back-spasm-plagued Corey Maggette (who btw dropped 23,19,23 on him in G3,4,5 respectively). So yeah. I'd be damn proud of his D, too.
Best scorer? I dunno. Some nights, maybe. Ask, yourself, why the heck aint he getting the doubles and triples when Denver's got such a perimeter-awful and godforsakenly-thin roster (ok maybe not that thin anymore)? Because the other teams are on to Melo. He's talented, but geez.
Don't worry, you could always play the Nuggets (or draft and surround Melo with Team USA) and live your Melo dreams in NBA Live 07 or NBA 2k7.
