>>11914374I actually was fortunate enough to meet a bunch of the riders last year at Laguna Seca and he couldn't be further from a douche. Spies was by far one of the coolest riders we spoke to. He was super laid back, nice, and real easy to approach. Definitely seems just like a country bro who happens to be one of the best riders in the world.
Colin Edwards was also cool. You would never guess that he was a MotoGP rider, but is without question one of the nicest people I have ever met. We met him and just shot the shit for 30 minutes just talking about bullshitting about MotoGP and AMA.
Whats funny is that out of all of the riders, the only one who seemed kinda like a douche bag was Jorge Lorenzo. Given his english isn't that good, but he wouldn't give us the time of day while Rossi, Hayden, Edwards, Spies, Simoncelli and Stoner were all cool guys.
>>11914297I really liked the R1; he looked sick, had crazy top end. But I got a little tired of it after a while. The front end on those bikes are so big that it sorta feels like you are riding a snow plow. Plus the motor is all about top end power, but really lacks the low end torque that makes a 1000cc bike so much fun to ride.
So once I rode my buddies GSXR I was hooked. The bike seems a lot smaller than it actually is and the power throughout the powerband is just nuts. I like the way the R1 looks better, but the GSXR is just a better all around bike in my opinion. Plus my R1 had 17,000 miles on it and i wanted to get something a little newer.
