Tips for exercising safely

• Be aware of your physical and medical conditions.

   Do the Physical Activity Readiness Questionaire, a self-assessment questionnaire to help you gauge your physical fitness for physical activities.

   One of the questions is: "Do you feel pain in your chest when you do physical activity?"

• Warm up and cool down before and after sports through stretching to prevent injury.

• Ensure adequate hydration to prevent heat injury.

• To reap health benefits, 100 minutes of moderate activity is good enough.

• If you engage in strenuous activities, allow 12 to 24 hours of rest before the next session. Train within your means and do not get carried away.

• Follow safety rules and regulations.

• Be aware of the environment and use safety equipment.

• Wear appropriate attire for the type of sports you are doing. Wear loose and comfortable clothing so that it does not restrict your movement.
